and managing director of Freightliners since 1982, James Evans is the company's new managing director.
Evans has been with British Rail since 1957 and became freight services development manager in 1974. From 1977 to 1983 he was also BR's European rail traffic manager, responsible for developing Anglo-European rail traffic.
