THE RECENT reorganisation of European marketing operations for commercial vehicles from General Motors plants has been accompanied by the introduction of further Japanese-built models.
In Germany, Convesco Vehicle Sales GmbH, a new General Motors company, is now setting up a network of Isuzu distributors. Beginning with the addition in 1980 of the lsuzu KB 25 pick-up to the Bedford programme in the UK and other European territories, the extension of Isuzu activities has been actively promoted as part of the worldwide GM philosophy since a holding of 34.2 per cent was acquired in the Japanese marque 12 years ago.
When, early in 1982, General Motors revealed the introduction of the Isuzu TLD range of 51/2-tonners for certain European markets, including Switzerland, it was intimated that other, heavier, models would follow.
