A NEW SCHEME for reporting accidents, dangerous occurrenci and cases of ill health arising at work is outlined in a consultatil document published by the Health and Safety Commission.
The scheme includes a proposal for the systematic reporting of occupational diseases and medical conditions, and an arrangement whereby the Commission can authorise additional follow up information on incidents of special interest to policy concerns.
The proposals, which have been developed after extensive informal consultations with bo sides of industry, include o tions on the type of injuries th should be reported. The Cor mission therefore would lil views on whether to record at report incidents causing mo than three days and seven da' absence from work; an whether to report seven day a sences but still require er ployers to keep records of int dents involving more than thrt days absence.
