Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Said to secure parts quickly, and be easy to remove, is a blind rivet assembly consisting of an aluminium stem and a nylon locking jacket announced by Alcoa.

Called the Alcoa ram fastener it has a one-piece construction that is claimed to prevent removal or loss of the nylon jacket, With the fastener stern in position, thumb pressure exerted on the aluminium head is usually sufficient to expand the slotted end of the nylon jacket, thus holding materials together. In a locked position, the aluminium head fits flush in its nylon jacket. Quick removal and re-use of the fastener is facilitated by grooves in the jacket head.

The fasteners hold materials in position without distortion or surface blemishing and also resist vibration.

Both 4.75mm and 6.35mm diameter fasteners are available for material thicknesses from 2.54rnm to 25.4mm.

Manufactured by: Alcoa of Great Britain Ltd, 105, Piccadilly, London, W1V ODE.
