• In South Africa this year commercial vehicle sales continue to boom in sharp contrast with the ailing car market. Truck sales for the first five months of 1971 were 44,429-18.4 per cent up on 1970. If the trend continues, truck sales for the whole of 1971 will top the 100,000 mark for the first time. Annual commercial vehicle sales could rise to more than 150,000 by 1973.
