Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The paintmakers Association has decided to market vehicle refinish paint and materials in metric containers, the first examples of which are now reaching the trade.

Three metric size containers will succeed the Imperial measure cans. A 5-litre container replaces the 1gal can. This is to be followed by I-litre and 2.5-litre cans. In addition a 5-litre rectangular can will replace the lgal panel can for thinners and a 25-litre drum will replace the 5gal drum.

The 5-litre can will be used mainly for selected popular vehicle and fleet colours, surfacers, primers, etc, the 2.5-litre for certain ancillary products and the 1-litre can for vehicle colours.

Until the whole new range of sizes has been supplied, by the end of this year, manufacturers will continue to supply factors and spray shops with Imperial cans and will be advising their customers of details of the new price structure.
