Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS an avid reader of The Commercial Motor I was somewhat amused at the article regarding CA45C starters in your issue of July 16, and the necessity of top brass negotiation between the Road Haulage Association and C7AV Ltd. to obtain .supplies of replacements. It would appear that the " bloke at the bench " has not been consulted. CA45C starters are not expensive, easy to repair. and spares arc available from other sources though I prefer genuine ones. Other types of starters will. with better results, often replace the CA45. and supplies of these are available. Indeed. I am aware of both types beimg available as " surplus".

Flywheels and pinions with a better lead in would cure a lot of troubles.

Finally, a co-operative of the Road Haulage Association members in any one area could employ an electrician to keep their fleets up to scratch if the situation is so serious. Esh Winning, Co. Durham. D. GRAY.
