Now 'operating on the rail-replacement service between Aylesbury and Steeple Claydon on the Great Central Line is this 53-seat Marshall-bodied AEC Reliance (above) of Red Rover Omnibus Ltd.. Aylesbury. As related in an article in The Commercial Motor. January 1. 1965. the company was reluctant to introduce the bus service at first. as no subsidy was to be paid to cover any losses, but the service turned out to he quite a success. leading to the purchase of the 53-seater when the 43-seat coaches originally used on the service proved to be too small.

The bus is the largest capacity single-decker operating north-west of Aylesbury. as United Counties are restricted to 45-seaters for one-man duties. A flap at the front of the Marshall body can be opened to display a " pay as you enter" sign when the bus is employed on the Steeple Claydon service. Interior specification of the bus is generally similar to recent service buses built for Ribble Motor Services Ltd.
