THE kind of restrictive policy advocated Iby the TUC would have precisely the reverse effect to that which was claimed, the TRTA national secretary, Mr. H. R. Featherstone, told The Commercial Motor this week. Far from making for efficiency it would lead to inefficiency in transport. The report grossly underestimated the importance of individual transport judgment.
To the TRTA, the TUC's comments on the Geddes Report seemed illogical in rejecting out of hand the facts about the economic and efficient use of ancillary transport by C-licence operators, as stated by this responsible body after hearing the evidence of over 160 organizations.
