• Ten drivers employed by Stroud haulier James Timms Transport have been Fined £2,880 in their absence for drivers' hours and tachograph offences, when they failed to appear before the town's magistrates. The hearing of 77 charges against the company, alleging it permitted the offences, foiled to produce tachograph records, and used unauthorised operating centres, together with the case against an eleventh driver, Stuart Keene, of Allsop Close, Dark Orchard, Newham on Severn, accused of falsifying a tachograph chart, taking insufficient daily rest and exceeding the daily driving limit, were adjourned until the end of April.

Prosecuting for the Department of Transport, Edward Lyons said following complaints that the company's vehicles were being parked all over Gloucestershire, traffic examiners called for its tachograph records. An examination of the charts revealed the offences by the drivers:

J Robert Baldwin, of The Terrace, Haresfield, near Stonehouses, was fined £160 for failing to use a tachograph. J Michael Beck, of Cromers Close, North Way, Tewkesbury, was fined £320 for failing to take sufficient daily rest and exceeding the daily driving limit.J William Berg, of Bowly Rood, Gloucester, was fined £160 for taking insufficient daily rest.

Wayne Jones, of Mansfield Mews, Quedgley, was fined £160 for taking insufficient daily rest. J Robert Lanciono„ of Stroud Road, Gloucester, was fined £160 for taking insufficient break after four and a half hours drivingu Mark Moore, of Orchard Close, Mitcheldean, was fined 2320 for taking insufficient break after four and a half hours driving and failing to use a tachograph. ..I Kevin Pettigrew, of Willow Avenue, Coney Hill, Gloucester, was fined a total of £640 for four offences of failing to make entries on the centre field of a tachograph chart.j Clive Pratt, of Sy_denham Terrace, Gloucester, was fined £320 for two offences of taking insufficient daily rest.J Peter Shill, of Severn Road, Park Estate, Stonehouses, was fined £320 for two offences of taking insufficient daily rest.,_I Paul Seddon, of Green Street Cottages, Haresfield, near Stonehouses, was fined £320 for two offences of failing to use a tachograph.
