• The CV and road transport industries have fared well in this year's Queen's Awards for Export and Technological Achievement.
Companies rewarded for their export achievements include: Artix of Peterlee, County Durham, heavy-duty dump truck manufacturer; Austin Rover Group of Canley, West Midlands, motor vehicles and parts manufacturer, Hyster Europe of Basingstoke, Hampshire, powered lift truck manufacturer; Sovereign International Freight of Feltham, Middlesex, international freight forwarder; Thermopol of Crawley, West Sussex, rubber hoses sealing rings for automotive engine manufacture; Trans Euro Worldwide Movers of London, removals and storage company; and Vic-Tree of Birmingham, injection-moulded wheels manufacturer.
Queen's Awards for Technological Achievement have been won by the Colvern division of Crystalate Electronics of Romford, Essex, manufacturer of position sensors for automotive electronic servicing; and Holset Engineering of Turnbridge, Yorkshire.
