Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

day on CM's light van test route. Returning along a stretch of dual carriageway on the A217 he was confronted by a road full of small, brightly coloured beach balls of varying sizes.

Since he never takes anything stronger than Junior Aspirin, and certainly never drinks and drives, this couldn't be explained as a Technicolor hallucination. Neither was there a class of schoolchildren darting between the traffic attempting to retrieve the bouncing break-aways. There were, in fact, absolutely no clues as to why the road was full of balls.

So where did they come from? The Hawk would be very grateful for any information, because until some sensible explanation is found, a disturbing thought lurks in the back of his mind: TV presenter Jeremy Beadle struggling to avoid the tumbling toys, and a CM reporter has been captured on film!
