• Plaxton subsidiary Roadlease is supplying Cleveland Transit with 10 Leyland Lynx city buses under a leasing deal which includes contract maintenance.
The 49-seat Lynxes are the first new full-size buses to join the Cleveland fleet since it was formed in 1986.
Managing director Malcolm Howitt says: "Being a new company we can see many advantages in leasing, not least of which is that it doesn't tie up capital."
The new Cummins-powered Lynxes have been acquired as the first step in a fleet replacement programme.
The deal brings the total number of buses and coaches on lease from Roadlease to over 500, together worth around £20
