• Wallace Arnold Tours, the leisure and holiday division of Leeds-based Barr and Wallace Arnold Trust, announced record profits for 1988.
A profit of £1.41 million, up from 2702,000 in 1987, contributed to the Trust's overall profit of £3.61 million — up from £2.7m.
The leisure division, which recorded a loss of nearly £500,000 in 1985, now carries over 250,000 passengers a year. The company has taken delivery of 49 new Volvo/ Plaxton coaches this month, two of which are air conditioned for Continental work.
