of recognised bodybuilders will in future have to offer quality assurance at least on a par with BS5750 or IS09002, both being prerequisite codes of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and Vehicle Bodybuilders and Repairers Association.
MAN VW will carry out engineering and quality assessments on every bodybuilder seeking recognition, to ensure that each conversion or body fitment conforms with the build standards required before final approval is given.
On completion, vehicts will he handed over to customers by MAN/VW as part of new procedures entitled 'Quality Checked' for VW marques and 'Zero Defect' for MAN. These are aimed at ensuring that all bodied and equipped chassis meet the customers' exact requirements as well as establishing a closer relationship with body and ancilliary equipment suppliers.
All bodybuilders currently working on MAN/VW chassis qualify for consideration, and once the Swindon headquarters is notified of their involvement they will receive the appropriate bodybuilder's manual which is free and updated regularly.
