Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• CEMA Enterprises of Weston-super-Mare has developed and patented a torque-absorbing fixing unit that, when used to mount sideguards or rear under-run bumpers to truck chassis, will absorb crash impact and minimise damage.

Each unit comprises a hollow cylinder with a pair of radial vanes and within it a shaft with diametricallyopposed vanes. The spaces between the four blades are packed with elastomeric material which will accept large deformations without excessive heat build-up.

The device conforms to EEC directive 79/490 and can be used on any rigid truck or semi-trailer from 3.5 tonnes upwards.
