• A new triple-ram scissor hoist for 38-tonne tipping semi-trailers has been added to the Harsh range of underbody lift gear by the UK manufacturer Ultimate Hydraulics of Elvington near York.
The Magna 130 model with its three hydraulic cylinders mounted within the patented folding frame is one of several new tipping gears on show at next week's Tipcon exhibition.
While the Magna 130 can be seen on a Wilcox step-framed artic-trailer, the heavy-duty K100 with its sturdier stabiliser frame is used on I largreaves' 100th tipper with Harsh equipment, a Millmore-bodied Mercedes-Benz 3025K eight wheeler.
A Hino FY 275 8x4 with a 6.7m John Wade aluminium aggregates body will have lightweight J100 hydraulics which adds only 450kg including oil.
