MR. WILLIAM H. KING, of South Gates, King's Lynn, has purchased the Ford ,main-dealer business for the King's Lynn area from Mr, John F. Davy, and we understand that he has been officially appointed by the Ford Motor Co., Ltd.,-as its main Ford and Fordson dealer for the same territory for tractors, commercial vehicles, and private cars. The business is an old
established one,. Mr. Davy having been connected with the Ford Co. in this way for the past 23 years. During the whole of this period, MR. J E. MORRIS has been with the firm, and will continue in the capacity of manager. Adjoining property has been purchased, and as soon as conditions permit it is intended to erect a super service station, Mr, King has been in the motor trade for 35 years, which includes 27 years with one firin in King's Lynn, the past 12 as sales direietor. He is well known in the Eastern Counties.

GRAHAM, who started bus services in Bournemouth in 1916, has announced his resignation from the post of general manager of the Hants and Dorset Motor Services, Ltd.; his decision was expedited by illness. MR. A. E. WEBSTER, secretary and traffic manager of the company, has been appointed to the post thus Vacated; he has been with the concern for 26 years.
MR. A. V. DAVIDGE, advertising manager of the Austin Motor Co., Ltd„, has retired after a Career of 44 years in the motor industry. After serving his apprenticeship with the Southgate Engineering Co. and spending two years in helping to design special tools, he entered tht motor industry and, in 1901, joined the drawing-office stall of the Wolseley Tool and Motor Car Co., then under the management of the late Lord. Austin. When,in 1905, • Mr. Austin, as he then was, decided to commence the manufacture of motor vehicles on his own account, he asked Mr. Davidge, with one or two others, to join him in his new venture, and the Austin Motor Co. was formed and work started at Longbridge. Mr. Davidge became responsible for all engine design, covering cars' and commercial vehicles, in addition to stationary and 'marine power units. During the years 1922-24 he acted as liaison between the drawing office, . production and sales apartments at Longbridge, supervising' the compilation of all technical litera, ture, following which he was appointed advertising manager. Mr. Davidge is succeeded by Ma. J. E. BE A &MEI' formerly responsible for Austin Press and film publicity, and since the Outbreak of war safety and welfare superintendent at Longbridge.
