THE YARDSTICK by which many transport managers and haulage operators judge the cost-effectiveness of their operations, CM's Tables of Operating Costs, are published this week for 1984/85.

The tables cover a wide range of vehicles from 5cwt to 38 tonnes (37.4 tons), including buses and coaches. OLAU LINE (UK) has introduced a new schedule to its freightonly service between Sheerness and Flushing (Vlissingen) in Holland. The ro-ro vessel Wesertal, can take both accompanied and unaccompanied trailers.

The Wesertal departs from Flushing at 23.00 local time every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and arrives at Sheerness at 12.00 local time the following day.

The ferry departs from Sheerness at 17.30 every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and arrives at Flushing at 08.30 the following day.
