Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I READ with interest the report in CM on the introduction of BS 6451, covering netting. There appears to be some confusion as you incorrectly state that BSI "has updated its previous BS 5759, Guide to Webbing Restraints, with a new specification BS 6451, which covers netting made of fibre rope lashings".

In fact, BS 6451 is not an update of BS 5759. The two are quite distinct and cover different products, which are used for different ends. The Association took part in the preparation of BS 5759 — Webbing Load Restraint Assemblies for use in surface transport — and will again be represented when the Standard is updated, which is to happen in the near future.
