Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DAF'S 24 ton gcw tractive unit, the 2100, is now more powerful, and faster. The turbocharged version of Daf's 8.25 litre, in-line six engine, designated DHTD, has replaced the naturally aspirated version. Maximum rated power has gone up from 113kW (152hp) at 2,400rpm to 152kW (204hp) at the same speed.

Maximum torque has gone up too, from 502 to 703Nrn (370 to 519 Ibft) leading to the need for an uprated gearbox, though it is still a ZF 12-speed, splitter, synchromesh model — the S665 with the GV80 splitter.

The increase in the 2100's geared road speed, from 53 to 60 mph, stems from a change of rear axle ratio, from 6.33 to 5.72:1.

The 2100 DHTD tractive unit is available at one plated weight only — 24,390 kg (24 tons).
