Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LEYLAND has confirmed that its 9-12 tonne gvw export range of Landmaster 4x2 rigid trucks currently built at Bathgate will be discontinued when the Scottish plant closes in 18 months' time.

Launched only three years ago (CM Aug 15, 1981) the bonneted Landmaster has been badly affected by the collapse of Leyland's export market, particularly in Africa where the vehicle was expected to sell.

Despite being closely related to the T45 Freighter the Landmaster is not compatible with the rest of Leyland trucks' model range and cannot be built at the Leyland assembly facility.

Production of Leyland's larger Landtrain 4x2 and 6x2 rigid and tractive unit export range also built at Bathgate will continue. It is being transferred to Scammell's Watford plant which already assembles similar Contractor models.
