DEREGULATION will be discussed at the Cavendish Conference Centre, Duchess Mews, London, on Thursday (September 6). The conference is entitled "Control and operation of local bus services — time for a change?"
Independent operators, municipals and PTEs will be represented among more than 80 delegates.
Nicholas Ridley, Secretary of State for Transport, will open the conference.
Organisers hope for discussion between delegates and representatives of the Department of Transport and Transport and Road Research Laboratory. Afternoon discussions, which will revolve around topics relevant to the Government's deregulation plans.
