Iut now Mr Hoyle has protad to Industry Secretary Varley over the talks dete protests from Mr hams that any talks on this subject were confidential.
And this week Dol spokesmen were equally reticent about the talks and an uneasy spokesman would make no comment on the subject.
Mr Hoyle is calling on British vehicle workers to be vigilant against any suggestion of Japanese commercial vehicle plants coming to Britain.
"They have destroyed our motorcycle industry, they are successfully penetrating the car industry and are doing the same with electronics — surely we are not going to commit the same folly on commercial vehicles," he said.
Colt has frequently claimed that it uses the maximum of local raw materials and labour to make its products.
