Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO-TIER fares are proposed for National Welsh's Bridgend town service for the last three months of this year.

If the South Wales Traffic Commissioners approve, the present seven-tier structure ranging between 6p and 26p will be replaced by 10p and 15p fares on October 8. National Welsh normally earns £24,000 on the Bridgend route, which employs five or six vehicles on the service at any time.

Allowing for some additional traffic generated by the cheaper fares, the company still expects to lose £2,500 during the three-month period, but Mid Glamorgan County Council is still prepared to support it. The council has also approved a £5 multi-ride ticket offering unlimited travel in Bridgend for a month.
