WADHAM Stringer Coachbuilders, the UK's largest ambulance builder and repairers,-has adopted the Dunlop Semtex "Easy Spray". method of applying adhesive to trim upholstery and stretchers.
The Dunlop unit, said to speed up production by 50 per cent, consists of a portable pressure post from which the adhesive is fed along flexible lines to spray guns, operated individually by a trigger mechanism.
Because the system is totally enclosed, atmospheric pollution by the evaporation of solvents is virtually eliminated, the adhesive being applied directly to the materials to be bonded.
