Evans steps up
Lothian Regional Council's new director of public transport is Charles Evans, its deputy director and general manager since January 1975, He succeeds Richard Bottrill who retires on October 31. Mr Evans is a qualified road transport engineer who entered the industry as an Oldham Corporation apprentice in 1952. He served later with Manchester Corporation, and joined Edinburgh City Transport as assistant engineer in 1965.
A new workshop planning officer for London Transport is David Webb, former work study officer. He will be responsible for overhaul and maintenance planning.
Geoff Toft, Sheffield technical representative of Pickfords Heavy Haulage, has moved to Westfield Transport, the Mansfield textile machinery removal contractor as its manager.
The Electric Vehicle Association's first executive secretary is Donald Gribble, former battery activities manager with the Lead Development Association. He worked with the Aluminium Federation until 1970.
Peter Stonham has succeeded Nigel Rosser as National Bus Company's press officer. For a time a London Country Bus Services employee, Mr Stonham was a transport journalist for• four years.
Goodyear's former chairman and managing director Tom Harrington has become international accounts director with the Goodyear International Cor poration in Akron, Ohio.
Neil Sergeant is Partline Parts Range representative with Scammell Trailers. He worked previously with Crane Fruehauf and Partco and will be responsible for expanding Scammell's sales to new areas.
A new Universal Commercial and Industrial Removals executive director is Brendan Fogarty, former British senior accountant with Aer Lingus. He joined the Irish air line in 1965.
Geoff Bayley is Quinton Hazell Automotive's new export co-ordinator. He joined QHA in 1976 as market analysis manager in 1976, and will be based at the company's Nuneaton headquarters.
