Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A road tanker pump, specially designed for the authorized distributors vehicles, is now available from Varley-FMC. It is designated the AD/2 and is designed for use with 1T,in. or 1 sin. hose with reel and meter. Fluids that can be handled range from gas oils to heavy fuel oils, while flow rates vary up to 70 igpm (3201/m) at engine tick-over speeds. This output has been carefully chosen after consultation with tanker builders and users to give optimum

performance on multicompartment AD vehicles.

At slightly higher engine speeds with suitable hose, the pump is capable of offloading rates of 100 gal/min which is suitable for single-compartment AD vehicles or smaller bulk delivery road tankers.

Ease of mounting on the vehicle chassis is assured by rearward facing ports, optional top or bottom shaft drive and a choice of direction of rotation. Combined with the ability to mount upside down if necessary, the AD/2 can be used with any chassis arrangement. An oversized relief valve is fitted as standard for meter and hose protection. The unit is fully capable of blowing up to 120ft with 1-4.in, hose on dry-hose operations. It is interchangeable dimensionally with the company's BD pump if higher offloading rates are required. An integral motor-driven unit is available where pto drive is unsuitable.

A 24hr exchange pump service scheme is in operation with service centres at the Brentford head office. Birmingham and Manchester.
