• An agreement has been signed between the DoE and Joseph Lucas (Industries) Ltd for further design and development work on a self-contained headway control for road vehicles. The control, which is based on micro wave radar, will enable the spacing between vehicles to be maintained automatically.
Under the terms of the agreement the DoE and Lucas will each contribute half the total cost of £28,000, • The Centre for Physical Distribution has arranged the following seminars: organizing a distribution system (September 14); inventory management and models in distribution (September 20 and 21); decision making for senior managers in distribution (September 27). Each seminar will be held in the BIM Conference Suite, Management House, Parker Street, London, WC2B 5PT. Further details from British Institute of Management at address given.
