Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SIX BEDFORD chassis variants, all based on the KGT 120in-wheelbase model with the 300 cu. in. six-cylinder Bedford diesel engine, are now listed for municipal usage exclusively.

These heavy-duty chassis are all plated at a public cleansing g.v.w. of 27,5521b (12.3 tons). Axle ratings for the municipal chassis are: front, 8,6241b (3.85 tons); rear 20,1601b (9 tons). The plate will carry an identification indicating the vehicle's exclusive municipal usage.

The six wheelbases: 120in, 135-}m, 141in, 151in, 156in, and 167in, the latter three each having flitch plates. Chassis include 13in diameter clutch, heavy-duty front and rear springs, and air-hydraulic braking servo and disc-transmission brake units.

Available as optional extras are the Bedford two-speed rear axle and a fivespeed gearbox as well as detail fittings to suit local requirements, such as radial tyres, extra cooling, heavy-duty aircleaner, and rear shock absorbers.

Recommended UK chassis/cab prices range from /1,385 15s to £1,509 5s according to wheelbase.

THE RTITB REPORTS...

. . . THAT it spent £.62,007 in the eight months from August 1, 1966, to March 31, 1967—entirely on administration, writes Sam Buckley. It expects a Ministry of Labour grant. The Board forecasts in this first report and accounts statement (published this week by HMSO at Is 6d) that 1968's "much more sophisticated" training scheme will be a pointer to the future.
