EXPORTS and home supplies are not likely to be affected by the contract undertaken by the Austin Motor Co., Ltd., to build "some thqusandi" of light four-wheel-drive vehicles for the Army, as the manufacture of these machines will be in addition to normal work.
Contracts for the production of the Rolls-Royce-designed engine have yet to be placed. It is anderstood that Rolls-Royce, Ltd., will undertake the work if it can be fitted into its aircraft programme.
Other motor and body, manufacturers are already engaged on, or have recent contracts for, the supply of military vehicles, such as troop carriers,
