The Leeds Co-operative Society continues to increase its fleet of motor vehicles. During the past half-year it spent £1,126 on additions to its garage, £6,118 on the acquisition of motorvans and lorries, and only £350 on horses. In the six months the wages in its traffic department totalled £22,790, £2,702 was expended on petrol and oil, £1,660 on licences, and £3,244 on hired cartage. The receipts from chars-a-banes were £717, and the work done for the distributive departments was valued at £33,493.
