At a meeting of the Merthyr Corporation a letter was read from Western Services, Ltd, stating they were prepared to give an undertaking that if they be permitted to run buses into Merthyr they would accept any reasonable route which the chief constable may consider advisable for the public safety. Moreover, they stated that they would not pick up any passengers on the inward journey on the extreme point of the tramway route, and on the outward journey would not pick up any passengers for any point but beyond the tramway.
The matter was referred to the watch committee for consideration.
