It is stated that there are at present -4,500 four-seater and .120 two-seater taxicabs in service in Berlin. The twoseater, with its lower fares, has proved so successful that the number is to be increased to 1,000. To meet the competition the Association of Berlin Taxicab Owners has recently reduced the charges for the use of four-seaters to the extent of 25 per cent. Taxisidecars have also recently made their appearance in the German capital, and it is stated that by the end of the year there will be 150 such vehicles in service.
