The committee of the Huddersfield Co-operative Society—which has its own motor coaches, under the direction of Mr. T. Flint, its traffic manager— mentions in the report to its members that " motortmses are bringing people from other towns and villages" to shop in Huddersfield. This is the first recognition by co-operators of the motorbus as a trade-bringer.
During the past six months the receipts of the society!s motor coaches, which have all been fitted with pneumatic tyres, were £739. The Huddersfield Society has expended 122,621 on motor vehicles, which have been written down 20 per cent. per annum until they now stand at only £2,340 in the balance sheet.
