The makers of Mann steam wagons have just issued three new booklets which contain much of interest to steam wagon users, whether they be actual or prospective. Catalogue E deals with the Mann overtype wagon, which is made for carrying 4-ton and 6-ton loads respectively. Special attention is given to a description of the complete wagon, the design and construction of which are lucidly dealt with. The booklet is well illustrated and contains a summary of the advantages of this particular machine for heavy, rough haulage and short-distance work.

Catalogue D refers particularly to the Mann overtype and Express wagons as applied to municipal work. Their general advantages for this class of service are clearly set out, amongst these being interchangeability of bodies, short wheelbases, accessibility, etc.

The remaining catalogue--G--is really ,a summary of Mann service, among the subjects included in its contents being road transport, its simplification, steam v. petrol, and a section dealing with economy, under which heading some comparative statistics of running costs for • steam and petrol vehicles are given. Any, or all, of these booklets can be obtained from Mann's Patent Steam Cart and Wagon Co., Ltd., Hunslet, Leeds, or from Mr. :11. M. Dallas, 42, The Avenue, Muswell Hill, London, N.10.
