Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The illustrations which we reproduce on this page show a new type of singledeck omnibus which has recently been put into service by the London General Omnibus Co., Ltd., and six vehicles of this pattern are now providing a local service between Staines, Slough and Burnham Beeches.

This type of vehicle is of more than passing interest, chiefly because it is, we believe, the first occasion on which the company have employed pneumatic tyres on public-service vehicles. This class of bus is an adaptation of the well-known Ic-type■ and the chassis is fitted with a saloon body which affords seating capacity for 24 passengers. All the seats are well sprung and the upholstery is carried out in leather ; eight of them are placed transversely, whilst one on each side at the rear is disposed longitudinally, so as to overcome

the inconvenience caused by the intrusion of the wheel-arches into the body interior. The question of ventilation has received special attention, and three sliding windows are fitted at each side, whilst there are four ventilators in the front partition.

We understand that further omnibuses of this description are now being constructed for suburban service, and there is little question that they provide easy riding, and, as a result of pneumatic-tyre equipment, will enable faster average speeds to be maintained.
