Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• P&O Trans European has successfully completed a series of piggyback trials moving chemicals. English, Welsh & Scottish Railway carried out five trials For P&O to assess the feasibility of piggybacking bulk liquid chemicals between Mossend and Seaforth and Mossend and Wakefield.

EWS used Thrall Eurospine wagons which carry nearstandard road tankers within the normal railway loading gauge. The tankers, which were loaded onto the wagons by crane and reach stacker, included cargoes of caustic soda, chalk slurry, bitumen-type products and sulphuric acid.

The Eurospine wagons, which can accommodate up to four road trailers apiece, are already used by Parcelforce on a weekday service between London and Scotland. EWS has ordered another 20 wagons. Liquid tankers: Moved by rail.
