• Appeals against two overloading convictions recorded against Northern Irish haulier Seaforde Transport (Co Down) by the Fleetwood magistrates, have been dismissed by Preston Crown Court. The court held that a haulier had an absolute liability to avoid overloading: Seaforde was ordered to pay the prosecution's appeal costs.
