Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE TURBOCHARGED Perkins TV8.540 engine has obtained a BS AU 141a certificate for a power output of 194kW (260bhp).

The engine, which delivers up to 175kW (235bhp) in service, developed 194kW for 100 hours running within the closely defined limits of the BS test.

Perkins claims that the BS certificate is proof of the inherent capabilities of the engine although it will continue to be rated at 175kW for in-service use.

The TV8.540 — based on the naturally aspirated V8.540 — is designed for use in vehicles of up to 34 tonnes gcw as well as in agricultural and construction machinery.
