Van Hool delay
PRODUCTION of Van Hool's new bus range has been set back by delays in the cornpanys move to larger premises in Dublin.
Three new buses are to be produced, a double-deck, a coach and a city bus, all with the same General Motors power and transmission pack. The first prototype city bus is now expected to appear in about a year.
Green Line cuts
THE GREEN Line coach network will be further reduced today with the withdrawal of services from route 703 from London to Dorking and cutbacks in services 721 and 725.
Millionaires
THE NUMBER of elderly and handicapped people enjoying free travel on London's buses has topped the million mark.
Figures released by the London Boroughs Association show that up to the end of July, 990,000 pensioners and 26,000 handicapped people had collected off-peak bus passes from their boroughs.

Nationalised IOM
TODAY sees the start of operations for the newly nationalised Isle of Man Transport Limited.
It was formed by combining the bus operations of Douglas Corporation and Isle of Man Road Services Limited following a report by the National Bus Company consultation services.
