STAFF PROSECUTION WORRY

THE increasing number of prosecutions of drivers and conductors for • alleged traffic offences is disturbing Bradford Transport Department. In the year ended March, 1954, there were 28 prosecutions, yet 479 drivers and 359 conductors gained safe-driving and merit awards.

There were 931 accidents involving trolleybuses and 735 concerning motor buses. Of the total, 628 involved passengers boarding or alighting. There was one accident for every 5,870 miles ruin by trolleybuses and one for every 8,587 covered by motorbuses.

RING SERVICE TO END?

A T present losing £125 a week, the

inner-ring bus service in Belfast is proposed to be withdrawn. It was introduced on June I for an experimental period of six months.
