Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DUAL-CONTROL hydraulic reac

tion valve capable of use with two 10-in.-diameter brake units has been produced by Feeny and Johnson, Ltd., Wembley, Middx., and is shown for the first time at the Commercial Motor Show.

Instantaneous trailer-brAe action is claimed for this unit, which can replace two of the largest-size control valves at present produced by this concern. Two diaphragms are used. One is the usual reaction diaphragm and the other, which provides a lip-tight seal, forms the control valve. Application of the trailer brakes can be arranged to occur at any position of the foot brake, and the force applied to the trailer brakes is always slightly more than that applied to the tractor brakes, thus ensuring that the outfit pulls up in a straight line. The trailer brakes can also be applied from a new hand lever on the steering column, and the lever can be locked in position to enable the driver to leave the cab. A Karrier Bantam on the Feeny and Johnson stand (389), and the len-Tug on the Jensen stand (57) are fitted with the steering-column lever.
