BRAMBER Stand 66 DESIGNED for carrying plant, such as welding equipment and generator or compressor sets, the 30-35-cwt. two-wheeled trailer shown here has a dropped axle, with the axle stubs pressed into cast-steel drop ends. The Girling brakes, which have 10-in.-diameter drums, are operated by an over-running attachment. Mounted on the draw-bar is a jockey wheel. Two adjustable legs at the rear of the frame, in conjunction with the jockey wheel, provide three-point stability when the trailer is stationary.

The second trailer shown is a four-wheeler with platform body. The channel-section frame is built up from 3-in. by 11-in. by --in. material, the whole structure being elez trically welded. Steering is through the front turntable, attached to which is a channel-section drawbar, carry* a ball hitch and the over-run braking mechanism. The platform body measures 9 ft. 6 ins. by 3 ft. 6 ins.

This exhibit is completed by a number of components, such as straight and dropped axle sets.—Brarnber Engineering Co., Ltd., Springbok Works, Waterloo Road, Cricklewood, London. N.W.2.

BROCKHOUSE Stand 91 ARTICULATED outfits, with Brockhouse semi-trailers, form Iwo of the exhibits. The 10-ton Pullmore shown is coupled to a Thornycroft V.F/NR6 tractor unit. Of single-axle design, the semi-trailer is equipped with 36 by 8 heavy-duty tyres, mounted in twin formation. The Gitlin brakes are operated by air pressure through Cla}ton Dewandre equipment on the tractor unit. The second semitrailer, an 8-tonner, has the Brockhouse Kwikfiks coupling gear. The Girl, ing brakes in this case are operated by a vacuum servo, the means for attachment of the pipe-line between the tractor unit and semi-trailer being automatically broken when the outfit is uncoupled.

The 5-cwt., 8-cwt. and 12-cwt. machines shown are twowheeled trailers, the Brockhouse patented ball-hitch coupling being employed in each case. On the 8-cwt. and 12-cwi. models. braking is on the over-run principle and a hand parking brake is fitted. All three have utiiity-type bodies of practically the same dimensions-5 ft. by 3 ft. That on the 5-cwt. trailer has a depth of 12 ins., whilst the other two are 15 ins. deep.
