APPLICATIONS by Liverpool Corporation and Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., for licences to operate seven services between the city and Litherland, Seaforth, Ford and Orrell, are to come before the North-Western Traffic Commissioners on October 14. Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., is also applying for permission to operate from Liverpool Pierhead to Banks Lane, Garston.
As listed, the applications would have provided a long hearing, for not only did the corporation and Ribble Company oppose one another's applications, but notices of objection to certain applications had been served by Bootle Corporation, Litherland Urban District Council, Liverpool Overhead Railway Co. and " Crosville."
Many of the difficulties have, it is understood, been cleared away as a result of an agreement, the terms of which will be submitted to the Commissioners at the hearing.
