Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Now with an updated cab, the Nissan Cabstar reflects a successful policy of continual refinement by the Japanese manufacturers. The Cabstar has an enviable reputation for reliability and durability.

Our tilt-cab test example proved incredibly manoeuvrable with a tight turning circle.

It is available off the peg with a composite body by Tipmaster 'eaturing alloy sides and ladder rack with a steel floor and headboard. Load discharge is by an electro-hydraulic underfloor ram with safety features including a 'body raised' bleeper and wanderlead operation.

At 2,200kg with one person on board (or 2,140kg unladen with a full tank) this 3.4-tonne GVVV singlerear-wheel Cabstar is one of the lightest vehicles in our test group. You could also opt for a 3.5-tonner with double rear wheels.

The free-revving 110hp 2.5-litre engine, driving through a fivespeed manual box, is not particularly quiet but is surprisingly lively. The steering is less impressive: it demands constant minor correction thanks to a set-back front axle.

The basic driver's seat lacks padding and contourswe recommend the extra-cost air version. Cross-cab access is a little tight across the front wheelarch but is helped by the adjustable steering column and dash-mounted gearshift.

The Cabstar lacks coat hooks but features a strangely moulded bin on the rear bulkhead plus cupholders and some small but useful fascia recesses. The centre seat back folds forward to make a handy table.

Braking on the rear-wheel-drive chassis is by discs all round and there's enough room to squeeze three people inside.

The Cabstar -also sold as the badge-engineered Renault Maxityhas an 18.000-mile/24-month service interval and a threeyear/60,000-mile warranty.
