JASTE AND recycling vehicles ave been subjected to checks in taffordsh ire in a crackdown on y-tipping in the county.
The initiative involved the counr's fly-tipping forum, EnvironLent Agency (EA) officers, rading Standards and the police. Karen Sulvvay, environmental rotection officer for Cannock hase District Council, says the itelligence-based checks focused a nine vehicles; one had no waste irrier licence and Staffordshire plice found two others had defecve tyres and lights.
Sulway says three alleged flyppers are being prosecuted: "We ive a problem in the area at cerLin hot spots. Cannock Chase has zero-tolerance approach to flypping and we will prosecute."
