• Leeds-based Optare has developed a new "standard look" StarRider to suit the Mercedes-Benz 811D chassis.

The StarRider SRE features the standard Mercedes chassis cowl, instead of the steeply raked aerodynamic front, but the remainder of the bodywork is to standard StarRider spec.

It is at least £1,000 cheaper, than the conventional StarRider and is expected to appeal to operators which prefer a standard appearance and access to the vehicles engine through a Mercedes bonnet.
