I FIND it difficult to reconcile the sporting Prince Philip with a decidedly unsporting electric seven-seater limousine. He is, however, to take delivery of one next month (November) after its exhibition at the Motor Show. It has the Lucas drive system use in 65 prototype Bedford C electric vans which are averac ing more than 30,000 miles month on commercial service His Royal Highness, already i the van of contemporar thought, is to be almost literall in the van of transport. The ca which has a maximum speed 50mph and a range of up to 7 miles on a charge, can easil make the journey from Buckinc ham Palace to Windsor an back.
It will make a change from th usual no-holds-barred style c progress that M4 seems partici larly to encourage.
