Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Scotland: M90. In Fife between junction 1 and the Tayside regional boundary there are various lane closures.

Northern England: M1/M18. Lane closures on both carriageways of the Ml, M18 link road, and M18 at Thurcroft interchange, South Yorkshire (between junction 31/33 of M1 — Worksop exit — and Sheffield/Rotherham turn off).

M62 has two-way traffic on the eastbound carriageway four miles west of the Eccles interchange, junction 12 (Manchester and Stretford), and outside land closures in both directions between junction 22 and 23, Scammonden Dam. Due to the extension of the motorway at Cheadle, heavy lorries often use this section. Lane closures are also in operation and extra care is needed.

Wales and the West: M4. Resurfacing works between junction 19 (M32 Bristol) and junction 20 (M5 Bristol) means that all traffic has to share one carriageway. A similar scheme is operating between junction 24 (A48 Newport) and junction 25 (Cwmbran).

The next phase of the scheme to widen the M4 between the Coldra and Caerleon interchanges has now begun. Work on the westbound carriageway will result in the closure of the left-hand lane and hard shoulder. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction during the work.

M5 has many lane closures in each direction between junction 21 (Weston Super Mare) and junction 29 (A30 Honiton).

A449. A half-mile stretch of the northbound carriageway 41/2 miles north of the M4 junction near Newport will be closed for about the next two weeks. Traffic must use the southbound carriageway.

Penzance. Rebuilding of the Ross swing bridge will go on for another five months. Drivers are advised to use the Market Jew Street route as an alternative. Midlands: Ml. South-east England: M Northbound entry to junction (Edgware) is closed as ar various lanes from this point t junction 5 (Watford).

Junction 13 is closed t northbound drivers joining th Ml. The nearside lane and har shoulder is closed from Newpo Pagnell services to junction 1: Further north there are variou lane closures between junctio 14 (Milton Keynes) and junctio 17 (Coventry South).

M11. South of Bishops Start ford (junction 8) there ari outside and centre lane closure for half a mile on the south bound carriageway.

M20. Repairs continue be tween the A228 Rochester exi and the Nepicar roundabout a Wrotharn. Delays are frequent.

M27 has lane restrictions or both carriageways east of junc tion 9.

Al. Reconstruction work or the Rowley Lane flyover on thE Barnet by-pass will mean oc casional closures of one or bott: carriageways between now anc March, mostly at weekends.

Ireland. Major road works at Bachelor's Walk, Dublin, have started. This will mean diversions for the next nine months. At least one lane of traffic will be in operation at all times at Bach el or's Walk and Ormond Quay. The normal direction oi traffic flow on Liffey Street Lower, between Middle Abbey Street and the Lotts, will be reversed.
